Binary and Decimal Calculator

There are different number systems we use while Binary and Decimal Number System is commonly used in computers.

Binary Numbers follow the base 2 method of counting, so the digits 0 and 1 are the only that used (numbers are represented by two digits). When adding/subtraction numbers in binary form, we are doing the carry when the sum reaches 2. When adding/subtraction numbers in decimal form (base 10 method of counting) we are doing a carry when the sum of the digits reaches 10.

The base 2 method of counting is used in computer science as it is the easiest way to represent the numbers as a string of electrically pulsed ons and offs. So one binary digit we call a bit, two digits we call a crumb, four digits we call a nibble, and eight digits we call a byte.
